Case study – The Woolworths Distribution Centre, Albury

Lecky’s supplied electrical and lighting hardware for the $100 million Woolworths Distribution Centre (formerly branded Safeway), a major depot in the company’s Victorian distribution chain.

A massive undertaking, the completed building, based on 25 hectares, experiences over 3000 truck movements per week.

A whopping $2.5 million of electrical hardware was needed to light the 58,000 thousand metre warehouse, that plays host to around-the-clock transport operations.

With the electrical hardware supplied including 2000 light fittings, 455 emergency and exit lights and 100,000 metres of cable this was no small undertaking.

But despite the scale of the project, supply management ran without a hitch, with the first order placed in September 2004 and the final delivery supplied on April 2006.
